Coupe
Also known as Coupé, this car model is very characteristic, mainly because they are cars with a much smaller interior space than the others (including sedans). This model is designed with a body that favors aerodynamics and consequently the speed of the vehicle. Originally, it has only two doors and accommodates 2 to 4 passengers, maximum.
Another common point that allows us to identify the Coupe model is the inclination of its last pillars, which are completely diagonal with a more square and lower rear. This design was initially designed as an alternative to the better-known sedan, and has undergone several changes since its launch.
Some models of cars in the Coupe style are the Volkswagen CC and the Porsche Panamera.
Crossover
This model is often confused with the SUV, and this happens because the model was in fact inspired by SUVs, but it was based on a regular passenger car. Thus, crossovers are car models that combine a passenger car with all the features of an SUV (which we will talk about later). These vehicles generally have a lot of space, a higher ground clearance than other models, 4×4 traction, among others.
The main characteristic of a Crossover is its monocoque body, that is, a combination of parts that form a single structure for the car, unlike other models that are mostly made with the body on the chassis.
Even though crossovers have weaker engines than SUVs, they tend to be lighter and more agile, consuming less fuel and providing the same comfort.
Good examples of crossovers in Brazil are the Renault Duster and the Peugeot 3008.
Sports Car
These cars are usually the most expensive cars on the market, not only because of their purchase cost, but also because of the cost of their parts, maintenance and high fuel consumption. These models have a very attractive design, and their focus is to provide dynamic performance for the driver, providing better acceleration conditions, maximum speed and comfort in the seat.
These models are usually where panoramic sunroofs, the best aerodynamics, the highest speeds, and other related features are found. Traditionally, this model only has two seats, as the engine is located in the back, which, together with the trunk, does not leave space for more seats.
In addition to the exterior, sports cars also have a luxurious interior, with top-quality appliances, developed to provide the best experience for users.
Well-known models of this type of car are most Ferraris, Bugattis, Porsches, Lamborghinis, etc.
Hatchback
Hatchback cars usually have very powerful engines, but with not so large bodies, so their interior space ends up not being so valued. The main difference between the Hatchback and the other models is its trunk, which is much smaller. Therefore, it is easier to identify Hatchback cars by their rear part, specifically the trunk, as they are not very long and do not have a visible volume. Unlike other models, the car gives the impression of ending at the rear windows, which provides a good panoramic view.
Because they are smaller than the others, Hatchback cars can also be more economical, after all, they are lighter and require less from the engine, which guarantees greater autonomy. In addition, the purchase price of a Hatchback car can also be more affordable than the others, mainly because it is a model manufactured by several brands in several versions.
Good examples of Hatchback cars are: Volkswagen Polo, Chevrolet Onix Hatch, Ford Ka Hatch, Fiat Argo, Hyundai HB20 Hatch, among others.
Jeep
Jeeps are vehicles generally used for driving off-road, on rougher terrain and with large irregularities. They have 4×4 traction, ideal for trails, mountains and, depending on the model, even sand. The name Jeep derives from the pronunciation of the original in English (GP), which means General Purpose, as these were the most widely used cars during the Second World War and were useful for numerous situations.
The most modern models are similar to SUVs, offering greater comfort and luxury than older versions. Even so, jeeps stand out for their great power, traction and size.
The best-known jeeps today are manufactured by the Jeep automaker, and are divided into several models, such as: Cherokee, Compass, Patriot, among others.
Pickup Truck
Pickup trucks are an easy-to-identify model, because they are characterized by their bodywork. They can be extremely strong, but in general they are designed as cars with enough strength to carry loads. Like jeeps, pickup trucks are designed to tackle the most varied terrains, most have 4×4 traction, a higher height, and a very powerful engine, although some models are simpler. The main difference between a pickup truck and a jeep is that the pickup truck has a bodywork, which increases the possibilities for transporting cargo, but reduces the capacity for transporting passengers, which can reach a maximum of two (counting the driver).
Well-known pickup truck models are: Volkswagen Saveiro, Chevrolet S10, Volkswagen Amarok, Fiat Toro, among others.
Sedan
Also known as a sedan, this car model is known for being a spacious model, throughout its entire length. Sedans have a large engine space, which allows their components to be well spaced and also provides space for more powerful engines. In addition, this model has a large interior space, providing comfort for the driver and 4 more passengers. Finally, the sedan also provides a large trunk space, allowing for the most diverse types of luggage.
Sedan cars are excellent models for traveling, mainly due to their space and also due to the performance of their engine. However, this model tends to consume more than other vehicles of the same size, as their size and weight require higher consumption.
Some sedan car models are: Toyota Camry, Fiat Cronos, Volkswagen Virtus, Honda City, Chevrolet Cobalt, among others.
SUV
SUV cars are generally considered to be the darlings of the majority. This is because SUVs offer comfort, power, space, economy and even a certain luxury. Its name comes from the English acronym ‘Sport Utility Vehicle’, and its models are as varied as possible.
Due to the great benefits provided by an SUV car, its prices are not exactly the best on the market, but the cost-benefit ends up weighing in when making a decision.
Well-known SUV models are: Renault Duster, Jeep Renegade, Nissan Kicks, Chevrolet Tracker, among others.
