Used in at least 60% of passenger cars in Brazil, after Diesel it is the most widely used fuel by consumers. It is a fuel obtained from the refining and breakdown of petroleum molecules.

To obtain regular gasoline, a percentage of 25% Anhydrous Ethanol is added to the gasoline mixture. This happens because ethanol evaporates more quickly and acts as an anti-knock, making it a safer and less volatile fuel.

In addition, this addition also works as an anti-pollutant, reducing the emission of greenhouse gases, which cause respiratory diseases and pollution; and also helps prevent dirt from accumulating in the engine and tank, thus helping to clean them. Its advantages are less engine wear and a longer service life of the lubricant, maintaining greater engine energy efficiency.

Additive gasoline is the same as regular gasoline in composition and octane rating (considering the addition of anhydrous ethanol), except for the additive added to the mixture, which is a compound of detergents and dispersants that help clean the engine, preventing the formation of carbon in the fuel supply system, thus increasing the engine’s useful life.

It also has a dye additive to the anhydrous ethanol so that it can be differentiated from regular gasoline. Its advantages are better engine performance (given its preservation and cleaning), less wear on parts, and low emission of polluting gases, thus preserving the environment.
